GroundHogs Day

I can always remember my little sister's birthday because it is always on ground hogs day - the second of February. Serena Estelle Watson Strock, born on 2/2/1927, and passed away on 28 October 2008. Happy birthday Cudda!

Thomas was here

Thomas Eugene Watson (9/16/1959) arrived Saturday around 5:30PM after attending a Royal Rangers conference near Waxahachie, TX. He had an abdominal pain that made me think that he was having an apendicitis attack. However, he was feeling much better Sunday morning and we went to Denny's where he had a Grand Slam and two glasses of orange juice and lots of butter on his pancakes. We came back to the house and visited until about 1:30PM when he departed to go by Thom Thumb grocery store and then by Walmarts to buy a total of eight cases of Dr. Pepper (on sale) before proceeding to Burkburnett. We had a good visit. He said that James and Gail were doing ok. Thomas sayes that he has a new job with Altras (Wichita Clutch) and James has two jobs (not sure what they are). Gail is still working at Shepard AFB for the government. He told about an uncle (or great uncle) of his that got drunk up in old Abilene, Kansas and killed a man and then went to his house and barracaded the doors and held off the police, state police and sheriff for several hours. They tried to tear gas him out but failed. They finally shot and killed him. This was Angie's brother or her uncle. I had heard that story before.

I should have taken a picture of Thomas but I didn't think about it until after he was gone.

Lee taught her Sunday School class this morning. She teaches the firsst Sunday each month plus the fifth Sunday.

One of her friends came by this afternoon for her first knitting lesson. I hope that she can persevere long enough to learn. Oh, by the way, I will be mailing some home-made knitted socks to some of you. You have to guess who. You will know when you receive a package from me. Take care.

Friday Outing

Gardie Lee and John Watson went on a shopping outing Friday. We went to Central Market first. They still have a bunch of unusual market products. We only purchased about $13.00 worth of things, more than half of that was for a small bag of chocolate almonds, which were good. We went on to Sam's where I filled up the Lincoln with gas and we purchased our weekly supply of food supplies. We sampled various snack foods like pizza while there.

Yarns Ewenique will be closing soon and have their yarns and stuff 25% off. Gardie Lee has been having a field day. Anybody need new socks? Also, she is into teaching special people how to knit.

Mr. Thomas Watson is attending a Royal Rangers meeting today and will be spending the night with us before going on back to Burkburnett.

Tomorrow is the Super Bowl game.

Skype

We have used our Skype with Sandra, Logan, Levi, and Sheryl so far. Also, we have Lindsey's Skype address. Let's set up some times to get in touch with everyone. Gary mentioned that maybe we could get several people on at the same time.

Back to normal?

Well, everything seems to have gotten back to normal. The Shannons came by for dinner yesterday. That was nice. We had brisket, butter beans, and rice and gravy and we watched the NFC and AFC championship football games. Sheryl seems to be mending on schedule. Gary took the BMW back to Granbury and Sheryl and Henry left in the 4Runner.

I have been checking the Skype network with not much activity. Everyone is always offline. We did skype with Max and Sandra, Levi, and Logan. That was fun. Larry is coming to Fort Worth tomorrow and we plan to have dinner at El Fennix with him.

We need to take up a collection for Logan to buy a parachute.

Again, the last Christmas holiday celebration was great with almost everyone here. Thank you everyone for coming and making it such a great time.

Sheryl gets out of the Hospital

Hezry and Gary went to the hospital and got Sheryl and brought her to the house, where she has been catered to so that she can continue to recuperate. They were here to watch the new year come in. She is making noticeable progress every day. Gary got up early this morning and went to Granbury to work. Hezry is happy again.

I saw that Sandra was going 72.5 miles per hour when she had reached 30,000 miles on the Dodge

Hezry went to the Main Event with a friend from Granbury where he had a good time. You know I wondered which way the " n " in Henry's name fell down, and I finally figured out that it didn't really matter which way it fell down.
